(10.16.06) Results are in, Lynn finished in the 22nd position on Saturday. Had a great car but got it messed up. Everyone had a great season. Lynn finished the season in 7th place, his highest finish in the points. Andy was also 7th in the points in his rookie year in the Late Model Trucks, and T-Bird finished 18th in points in the Limited Sportsman division only running a limited schedule. Thanks to everyone who helped and supported the team this year. We all can't wait til next year.

(10.14.06) A rough night of racing for Team Phoenix at the season finally at the Motor Mile Speedway. Tony qualified 19th in the 100 lap Limited Sportsman race and was moving up through the field. But around lap 9 he had to bring his car in the pits with over heating problems. He came back out about 30 laps later to finish
the race and wound up 19th. Lynn started 16th in the 150 lap Late Model race and had a really good car on long runs. He had moved in the top 10 by lap 100 and was working on Keven Wood for 8th place when they made contact in turn 2. Lynn backed out of the gas to let him straighten up but it appeared that Wood jammed on his brakes and Lynn hit him in the back of his car sending Wood into the outside wall. Lynn's car suffered front end damage and a busted radiator. Niether car was able to continue. The final results are not posted yet.

(9.23.06) T-Bird had his best run of the year in the final points race of the season at the Motor Mile Speedway. He qualified 9th in the 20 car field and moved to 6th on the first lap by dodging the spining cars of Terry Lawson, Scott Lancaster and Anthony Barns. After the restart, he passed Limited Sportsman champion Ray Sowers on lap 6 and moved by Derrick Lancaster on lap 14 to take 4th. Another restart on lap 20 saw him pass Jerry Godbey for 3rd where he stayed until lap 35 when Travis Hurt slid past him to take the spot. He held on to finish 4th, much to the delight of his cheering section of family and friends. He moved up one spot in the point standings to finish out the season in 18th. Lynn started 14th in a wild Late Model Stock Car race. He moved up to 11th
by lap 17 but had to pit under caution to fix a loose bumper bar that was dragging the track. He restarted in the 19th spot and battled with Jimmie Johnson and Johnny Chapman for the rest of the race to finish 13th. He held on to 7th place in the points out of 70 different drivers to make a start this year in Late Models. Andy didn't race this week but he finished 7th in the points. Congratulations to Team Phoenix friend Jeff Montgomery (photo1) (photo2) for winning the MOD4 championship at MMS. He only had to start the race to cliched the title and was heard on his radio saying that it "made him moist". Good luck to all MMS drivers at Martinsville next weekend, wish we were running but we will be there in the stands. And hey to all our buds in Nebraska, can't wait til next spring. Baaaaby!

(9.16.06) Top ten finishes for all of Team Phoenix Racing drivers tonight. Andy ran first in the 50 lap truck race. The race ran caution free, Andy qualified 6th and finished 6th in his #02 Chevy truck. He is 6th in the points and is only 2 points out of 5th with on more race to go. Next up was the 50 lap Limited Sportsman race.
T-bird started 17th in his #16 Cheverolet and made his way through the field to pick up his first top ten of the year. The race was caution free until lap 49 when the #33 spun on the back stretch. They finished with a green, white, checker and he finished 9th. Tony is 19th in points and could move up a couple spot with a good run next week. The 100 lap Late Model Stock race got off to a rough start for Lynn. His car was over heating during the warm up laps. He came in the pits and the crew guys work feverishly to get the car to cool down. The race was about to start when they got it packed full of water and the temperature started to go down. Lynn got back on the track before the start but had to start shotgun on the 22 car field even though he qualified 11th. The car ran good during the race and stayed cool and he brought it home in 10th. He is 7th in points and is to far behind 6th to be able to pass him. The last points race is next week.

(9.9.06) Nobody raced this week. Lynn's car is being repaired and they hope to be ready by next week.

(9.2.06) Andy matched his best finish of the year while Lynn gets knocked out early. Andy qualified 8th for tonites 50 lap race, he fell
back 1 spot on the start and then the truck hooked up and he was headed to the front. After he took the 4th spot from 2nd place qualifier Eric Janney, he was reeling in the 3rd place truck of Barry Cash. The truck developed a push coming off the turns the last few laps and he held on to the 4th spot. Lynn qualified 17th, fighting a tight car in practice and qualifying. But when the race started, he was headed to the front. He had made it up to 11th place and on lap 42 going into turn 3, cars started stacking up in front of him. He slowed and went low to miss the # 5 car but the #31 car of Chris Jones didn't slow and nailed Lynn from behind and spun him. He was sitting sideways on the track in the middle of turns 3 and 4 and ten minutes later ( it seemed that long ) the 16th place car of Bob Davis ( who evidently didn't have a spotter ) spun his car and slamed Lynn on the drivers side of the car. Lynn was not injured and he said that it was the hardest hit he had ever taken. The car had a lot of damage and Tbird and AJ had to rebuild the front suspension just to be able to load the car on the trailer. Hopefully the car can be fixed by next week. Lynn said the reason the car was so fast tonite was that he was trying to get a cricket out of his pants and he couldn't get his foot off the gas. Trucks are off next week but the Late Models run 100 laps and the Limiteds run 50.

(8.22.06) Update: T-bird finished 14th in the Limited Sportsman race last Sunday.

(8.20.06) Double points race meant double the action and double time at the track this week as Saturday's action was rained out just before qualifying was over and everyone had to come back on Sunday to race. The 14 car had the wildest weekend of the bunch. After major repairs from the last race, Friday nights practice session only lasted about 10 laps when Lynn slammed into a spinning car causing more damage to the car. The boys worked late into the night to make repairs. He qualified 11th and fell back a few spots early and worked his way up to the top ten before a flat right front tire sent him in the pits late in the race and he wound up 13th, and moved up a spot in the points to 7th. Andy started 7th and the truck was real loose, getting sideways in the turns nearly every lap. He came in the pits twice to make some adjustments and finished the race in the 8th spot. T-bird had a good run going and was also fighting a loose car. He pitted with about 10 laps to go to make adjustments. Results are not official for the Limiteds yet. Next race is in 2 weeks.

(8.10.06) Official finishes for August 5th. Andy wound up with a sixth place finish, dispite having to work on his truck durring the race and Tony was 15th after retiring with a tire going down. The boys are off this week but will be back on the 19th.

(8.7.06) No official results from this weeks races yet. Andy had some problems with his exhaust and lost some laps working on it and Tony had a leaky tire and parked it with 5 to go, (or was a fuel problem again), we'll never know. Lynn was at the beach terrorizing little kids on the go-kart tracks. I still can't figure out what Pappy was doing to Zippy in this picture!

(7.29.06) 30 cars started the night off and before the green flag even fell there was very few cars that were not jacked up. It was unreal. Just past the start finish line there was a huge mess and yes of course Lynn was included in that mess, got hit from behind and that was the end of the night. He came out and made one lap and got the black flag of course, you will get this when you are missing half of your car. What else can we say, not a good night of racing. It seemed like everyone on the pit crew was gathering up parts of the car in all kinds of directions. Boy do we need a sponsor. T-bird and Pappy was off tonite but they will race next week and the Late Models will be off. I hear T-bird got him a gas card.

(7.22.06) It was a great night of racing after about a 2 hour delay due to the heavy down pour. The first race was a mess, there was a quick caution in turn 4 and we thought Lynn was going to be in the middle of it, but thanks to his spotters for doing an awsome job of keeping their driver safe. Lynn wound up finishing 10th, had qualifying been better we could have finished better, but everyone qualified about the same so it was tough sat. night. Andy (pappy) did an awsome job on the track Sat. night. He ran a great and steady race. On the last lap he almost took the microphone section, just not enough laps and he got loose a couple of times while trying to pass but ended up finishing 4th, best this year, with a near 3rd place finish. He did an awsome job. Andy started 6th and nearly got John G. on the last lap he ran a good clean race. Lynn started 20th in the first race of 31 cars and finished 10th. In the second race, Lynn started 21st in the second race and finished up in 10th. Tony took the night off from driving, he must still have a "fuel problem" with his car.

(7.11.06) UPDATE: After a couple DQ's from Saturday nights racing, Lynn ended up with an 8th place finish. Woo Hoo! UPDATE 2: Lynn also moved up 2 spots in the point standings to 6th place. Woo Hoo-Woo Hoo!

(7.10.06) Gotta few new photos on the photo page.

(7.8.06) A wild night of racing at MMS. Andy led off the night in Late Model Truck race. He started 6th and faded back one spot but the truck hooked up and he was able to get up to 5th and was making a strong push for 4th by the end of the 50 lap race. He matched his best finish of the year with the 5th place run. Tony had his best run of the year working his way up to 4th place by lap 25 in a crash filled race that took over an hour to run 50 laps. He had dropped back a couple spots before a "fuel pick up problem" sent him to the pits after a restart on lap 35, giving him a 14th place finishing spot. A collection is being taken up so he will have enough gas to finish the next race. Lynn had a great running car in practice but by qualifying time the car was real loose so he lined up 21st. He quikly made his way up tward the front and by lap 35 he was in 10th. A lot of cautions kept the field tight making hard for him to get a run going. His car works better on long green flag runs. After dodging several wrecks and being slightly involved in one late in the race, he finnished 10th for his 4th straight top ten. The boys are off next week for the Hooters race at MMS but will be back on July 22nd with twin 50's for the Late Models.

(6.24.06) Races rained out tonite!

(6.17.06) Second top 5 in a row for Lynn in the 100 lap Late Model race. He had to work a little harder for it this week by starting in the 15th position. The race was red flagged four times for several bad crashes. He steadily picked off cars heading to the front but his best move of the night had to be when he had to get hard on the brakes to avoid a crash right in front of him when Jason Lawrence went over the top of Keven Woods car. With only 2 laps to go to the finish after the caution, Lynn started in the 7th spot and passed the #12 car to finish 6th. But after the DQ of Rusty Screwes, Lynn gets 5th. Lynn said the Phoenix Drywall/Trucking Star Promotions Chevrolet ran good all night and he wanted to thank Ernie and the boys back at the shop. Andy was Back after missing the Truck race last time out when he was crashed in practice. He started 8th and was battling a ill handling race truck and wound up finishing 7th. Results for the Trucks are unofficial at this time. T-bird ran two 25 lap race tonight. He started 15th in the first race and moved up to the top ten early but fadded back to finish 13th. The second race he started 16th and was running good until he tangled with the #42 of John Sumner with 7 laps to go. With his hood and right front fender flapping in the wind, he brought it to the pits with 5 to go and finished 18th.

(6.10.06) Lynn picks up his first top 5 of the year in the 100 lap Late Model Stock Car race at Motor Mile Speedway. He qualified a seasons best 8th and quickly move into 6th place by lap 3. A long green flag run spread the field but Lynn was able to keep the front runners in sight. A few late race cautions bunched the field causing some scary moments on restarts but on the final restart he cleared the lap traffic quickly and set his sights on #20 Keven Wood. With 2 laps to go he made it around Wood to finish 5th. He out ran big money teams like Richard Childress Racing, Ken Schrader Racing and Wood Brothers Racing. Tony Started his Limited ride in the 14th spot and was hit from behind on lap 2 when he slowed for a 4 car pile up in front of him. He spun around narrowly missing the wall and held on to finish 13th.

(6.3.06) Andy had a bad run of luck when the driver of the 28X truck (Nelson Crowder) run him into the wall during practice. Andy had some damage to his truck which kept him from being able to qualify or race. This was the first time this year for Crowder at MMS and it was sad to see a new (rookie) driver that has never drove a racecar or truck to be put out during practice with no more drivers than they have in the LMT division. Andy's family supports him on and off the track and was greatly dissapointed to see this happen to him. If anyone knows of a sponsor that would like to sponsor Andy Phoenix in the LMT (02) division at MMS please feel free to contact him at the track he is usually there every Sat. night even when he doesn't have a race, he supports his other two brothers and is a pit crew member for them. 14 LMSC and 16 LS division. Lynn finished 12th and 7th in the twin 50 LMSC races and T-bird finished 11th in the Limited race. Hope to see everyone this sat. night for another great night of racing.

(5.20.06) The night started out with Andy racing in the 50 lap Late Model Truck event. He started in the 8th position and fell back to 9th on the start but quickly regained the spot as he passed the #8 truck and set his sights on 7th place. While battling for the 7th spot, he tangled with the #17 driven by Lindsey Holman on lap 25. Andy was on the bottom of the track and Holman came down across his right front fender causing her to spin. As Andy was stopped behind her, the #8 truck spun and made contact with the rear of Andy's truck causing minimal damage. Officials put Andy to the rear of the field for the incident. The race ran caution free the rest of the way and Andy brought the truck back up to finish 7th and held on to his 5th place position in the points race. Holman came to Andy after the race and said she was sorry and it was her fault and her radio wasn't working. They hugged and all was well. Andy was heard saying WOOOO! as he got out of his truck. Lynn qualified 17th in the Phoenix Drywall/Trucking, Star Promotions #14 Cheverolet Monte Carlo for the 100 Late Model Stock Car feature. He was steadily making his way toward the top ten in a race that had few cautions. A late race caution bunched the field with the restart coming with only 7 laps to go. Lynn was battling to the inside of the #41 car of Rusty Skrewes when they got together coming out of turn 4. Lynn's right front fender came lose and got under his tire which ripped it the rest of the way off. The fender got caught under the car causing a shower of sparks around the race track. Ignoring the black flag the last few laps from NASCAR officials, he held on to finish 14th, dropping to 8th place in the points standings. After a post race conversation with Mr Skrewes, Rusty was heard saying "awe, why do I gotta be a name?". Over all it was a good night and nobody got beat by a girl. The boys are off this week end and will return to action on June 3rd.

(5.20.06) Team Phoenix Racing returns to action tonite at the Motor Mile Speedway. Lynn will be running 100 laps in the Late Model Stock Car division, Andy will be doing 50 laps with the Late Model Trucks and not sure if Tony will be running his Limited Sportsman car in tonites 50 lap race. Updates tomorrow on how they all came out.
