We are going to NEBRASKA Baby!
(8.2.08) Another twin 75 lap race weekend for Team Phoenix. Lynn started 17th in the first race and raced his way up to 11th in a race that was run caution free. In race 2 he started 19th and made all the way up to 9th place by the end of the 75 laps. Two good finishes moved him up to 8th place in the track points race, tied for 20th place in the Nascar Virginia state points standings and tied for 209th in the national Nascar points. Hank had a great run going in the Limited race, running 4th with 14 laps to go. But on a lap 36 restart, the little fellow in the 05 with more car than driving ability, dove underneath Hank going in turn 1 and smashed into his door, getting him sideways and then running over the front end of the car. (PHOTO) The crew cleaned up the car and got him back out to finish the race. He finished 10th one lap down. Rod finished 11th in the UCAR race. Next race is Saturday with 150 lap Late Model and twin 25 lap races for the Limiteds. There are a few new pics on the photo page.
(7.26.08) Twin 75 lap races proved a good and bad day of racing for Team Phoenix. Lynn started 16th in the first race and had a very good car moving up through the field. On lap 12 he followed Micheal Cherry passed Shaun Magnum to move in the 14th spot. Lap 26 he was 12th and 2 laps later he moved to 11th. He passed Zeke Shell on lap 39 for 10th where he ran until he passed Derrick Lancaster on lap 70 and finished there for 9th place. The car was great, running the same times as the front runners. In race 2 he started 18th and moved up to 12th by lap 35 but on lap 49 the flywheel broke and he had to retire for the evening.
Hank had some bad luck right off the start, making contact on the first lap of the 50 lap Limited Sportsman race. He qualified 10th and had to restart 18th after the caution. He quickly made his way back to the top 10 by lap 16. He ran there til lap 32 when he passed Josh Caldwell for 9th and held on to finish in that spot.
Twin 75's are again on tap for this week for Late Models along with 50 laps Limiteds and 25 laps UCAR.
(7.12.08) After a week off, the Late Models were back in action this week. Still battling handling problems, Lynn qualified 18th out of 27 cars after being 5th fastest in final practice. He methodically made his way through the field during an uneventful 150 lap race. BY lap 120 he was in the 10th spot and he stayed there for his 3rd top 10 of the year. We're off next week but will return on the 26th for twin 75's and the Limiteds will be back in action. And don't forget - "You gotta shake it before you bake it."
(6.28.08) Bad night of racing for all of Team Phoenix Racing cars. Lynn qualified 21st out of 26 cars and was headed toward the front making it up to 12th at one point, but around lap 125 he tangled with a lap car and messed the car up. He parked the car and was credited with 17th spot. Hank started 6th in the Limited race and was running real well in 5th until he was taken out by a lap car on lap34, smashing the inside wall. He finished 14th. Rod took his UCAR from 18th to 6th by lap 13 but his right front wheel bearing went out causing the wheel to wobble. He wound up 22nd. No races this week but the Late Models will be back in action on July 12th.

(6.21.08) Twin 75 lap races were on tap for tonight. Lynn qualified 17th for the first race and 19th for the second. The car was running real strong in the beginning as he moved up to the 14th spot. Then, rear end troubles began making the car very loose and he was loosing time to the leader. He eventually lost four spots and finished 18th. The second race was about to start when the car stopped on the front stretch on the pace laps and had to be pushed to the pits. More problems with the rear end. He did not come back out and was credited for 28th.
Hank Turman made his first start of the year for Team Phoenix Racing in the Limited Sportsman division. He qualified 8th and was running in that spot until he spun on lap 12, put him back to 13th. On the first lap of the restart, he missed a 7 car pile up by darting down pit road and coming out in the 5th position. He ran 5th til lap 31 and was passed by Tony Rogers and Anthony Barns. On lap 41 he missed the spinning #24 car and held on to finish 6th. Will have pictures of the new car soon. Next race is June 28th with 150 laps for Lynn, 50 laps for Hank and 25 laps for Rod as he makes his first start of the year in the UCARs.

On lap 127 he passed pole sitter Adam Barker for 10th and stayed there for his second top 10 of the year.

He cracked the top 10 on lap 95 and moved to 9th 0n lap 106. Then trouble struck when he was involved in an incident in turn 2 and was moved back to 16th on lap 128. He made it back to 13th by lap 140 and thats where he finished.
(5.3.08) Good finish after another poor qualifying effort this week by Team Phoenix Racing, starting 30th out of the 35 car field. Lynn steadily gained spots and was 24th by half way. On lap 110 he cracked the top 20 and was 17th by lap 118. He moved into 15th on lap 140 and held on for a good finish.
(4.26.08) 35 cars took the green flag in the first of two 75 lap races at MMS. The action started on the first lap with a spin in turn 2 and the driver, with help from his spotter, was able to avoid the mess. after about 8 laps of caution the rains came again and washed out the event. The twin 75's are rescheduled for August 23rd.
(4.19.08) Rain took the show this week. Twin 75's are up next week.
(4.5.08) First race of the year for Team Phoenix Racing at the Motor Mile Speedway. Practice went well but when it came to qualifying the car was not working to well. We timed in at 28th fastest out of 31 cars. The crew worked on the car and had it on the starting grid and the rain started to fall. The race was postponed til the next day. The race went very well, Lynn climbed all the way up to finish in the 14th spot. Next race is April 19th.
